The Mavericks are looking for backcourt depth with star guard Kyrie Irving likely being sidelined for much of the 2025-26 season due to a torn ACL. Could an undrafted free agent help fill that need at guard?
Dallas set out to answer that question Thursday night after the conclusion of the second round of the 2025 NBA draft by signing Gonzaga’s Ryan Nembhard and Auburn’s Miles Kelly to two-way contracts, according to USA Today’s Michael Scotto and ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Nembhard, who transferred from Creighton to Gonzaga, is the younger brother of Indiana Pacers’ Andrew Nembhard and led the NCAA in 2024-25, averaging 9.8 assists per game.
