Peter Molyneux and 22cans return in April with their latest god sim attempt, Masters of Albion.
Molyneux is name you might know from Bullfrog Productions and Lionhead Studios. Molyneux is a fair bit infamous nowadays after some past events. Like their previous games Godus and Godus Wars – both of which never left Early Access and were eventually delisted from Steam in 2023. A later game called Legacy went on to use the blockchain and NFTs too.
The team working on Masters of Albion includes a few other veterans from the industry including Mark Healey, Russell Shaw, Iain Wright and Kareem Ettouney, who were key in developing Dungeon Keeper, Black & White, and Fable. They say that Masters of Albion “reimagines the god game for today” with it “blending strategy, simulation, town management, and real-time defence, the game gives players extraordinary freedom to play the game the way they want to play it”.
Check out the release date trailer below:
“Masters of Albion is the culmination of my life’s work, a game that owes so much to titles like Dungeon Keeper, Black & White, and Fable. It’s a totally unique game that we hope will delight players, a game that brings God Games into the modern gaming landscape and puts the genre firmly back on the map.” – Peter Molyneux
