
The country’s capital market will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday on the occasion of Durga Puja. That is, there will be three working days in the capital market this week.
The market has seen an upward trend on two of these days. This has increased the main indices and market capital of both markets. The market capitalization of the main capital market Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) increased by more than Tk 1,614 crore in three days.
Market analysis shows that at the end of last week, the main price index of DSE, DSEX, was at 5,415 points. It increased by 1 point to 5,416 points at the end of trading on Tuesday.
Among other indices, the DSE Shariah index, DSES, was at 1,172 points last Thursday. It has increased by 1,172 points. However, the DSE-30 index, which consists of shares of 30 companies selected by the DSE, fell by 21 points to 2,082 points during this period. Last Thursday, the index was at 2,103 points.
The average trading volume increased by 6.23 per cent in three working days of this week. The average daily trading volume in the week in question was Tk 622 crore. Last week, it was Tk 583 crore.
Meanwhile, in the past week, all price indices of the country’s capital market, Chattogram Stock Exchange (CSE), have declined, along with the prices of most of the securities participating in the transactions.
And the average trading volume of the stock exchange has also decreased slightly. The main index of the Chittagong Stock exchange, CASPI, has decreased by 1 point to 15,079 points and the CSCX index has decreased by 13 points to 9,264 points.
In the last three days of CSE trading, 293 securities were traded. Of these, 113 increased in price, 159 decreased in price and 21 remained unchanged.
Shares and units worth Tk 42 crore were traded on the floor in last three days. In the previous five working days, this transaction was Tk 80.3 crore.
