CRIME incidents in Manila went down by 13 percent in the last quarter of 2025, the Manila Police District (MPD) said.
In a statement released Monday, the MPD said Peace and Order data showed that both index and non-index crimes posted decreases, with total incidents dropping from 2,110 in the third quarter to 1,834 in the fourth quarter of 2025 — or 276 fewer cases.
Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno said the decline was the result of sustained law enforcement efforts and a policy of ensuring accountability for criminal acts in the city.
Moreno said that police restraint and discipline are evident during operations, highlighting restraint and adherence to due process.
“What I like is the restraint of the police. The anger disappears (during operations), and they become focused,” he told police officers in Filipino.
