
THE fire that broke out in Barangay 439, Sampaloc, Manila, early Wednesday displaced 200 families, fire officials said.

No injuries or casualties were reported, but firefighters said the blaze gutted 70 houses, displacing 200 families.
The fire was declared under control and officially extinguished at 5:44 a.m.

Manila Mayor Francisco Domagoso visited the place on Wednesday morning to provide emergency relief, saying, “We immediately went to ensure that City Hall would provide them with assistance.”
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire.
