Man Utd Table £78m Bid to Sign ‘Outrageous’ Star After Meeting This Week

After deciding late that he wanted a career in sports journalism, Daniel worked his way up the ladder in an unconventional manner.

Having opted against university, Daniel worked with Sky Sports as a freelance contributor and translator during transfer windows while also volunteering on several other blog pages and outlets to get a portfolio of content together.

Daniel then worked with Barnet FC as part of their social media team before, starting his own website which focused on football and MMA content.

That eventually led to work with 90min and Reach PLC with The Mirror, Daily Record, Daily Express and Manchester Evening News. Following that Daniel spent two-and-a-half years with Breaking Media covering Everton, Rangers, Leeds, West Ham and other clubs before joining GIVEMESPORT as a Premier League editor.

As well as football, Daniel is a huge MMA fan and has appeared on YouTube and podcast content too.

Manchester United have tabled a £78m bid to sign RB Leipzig forward Yan Diomande, according to Africa Foot.

The Red Devils splashed over £200m in the summer transfer window to bolster their forward line with the arrivals of Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko, which has taken them to sixth place in the Premier League after 20 games with only Arsenal and Manchester City having scored more goals than them.

But the club were also looking at signing Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo in January to further strengthen, and with that having now failed after he opted to join rivals Man City instead, INEOS have made their move for an alternative option despite having sacked manager Ruben Amorim.

Man Utd Make Bid to Sign Yan Diomande

Diomande, who has been described as ‘outrageous’, has emerged as one of the hottest attacking prospects in Europe at the moment after his performances for the Bundesliga outfit this season.

Now it has been reported that the Red Devils held a meeting with RB Leipzig earlier this week and have tabled a formal £78m bid to secure his services ahead of the competition, including the likes of Liverpool, Tottenham, Bayern Munich and Man City. The club’s directors met to discuss the deal, and it’s said that Leipzig have given Man Utd permission to speak directly to the player about his contract details.

It’s understood that United are offering Diomande a five-year deal with an option for a sixth, worth around €3.5m net per year (£100,000-a-week), and the finer details of the contract are set to be ironed out before the player finishes competing at AFCON with Ivory Coast, where he is a teammate of United star Amad.

Attacking Reinforcements for a System Change?

After Amorim’s stubborness essentially got him the sack at Old Trafford, it seems as though United are now preparing for a return to a more offensive-minded system which will include wingers – and for that they need to enter the transfer market.

After allowing Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Alejandro Garnacho to leave in the summer, Mbeumo and Amad are the only natural wingers in the first-team squad currently and that means extra cover is definitely needed.

A move for Diomande may be pricey, but it will make a lot of sense in the long run as he is undoubtedly a superstar in the making, and bringing him in during the season could be the kickstart the team needs to push up the table and possibly earn Champions League qualification.
