Manchester United have less than 24 hours to finalise their January transfer business. The Reds have endured a quiet month, having failed to sign a single first-team player.
But that could change before Monday’s 7pm deadline, with United still linked with bringing a new central midfielder through the Old Trafford doors. Leon Goretzka has become the latest name to be thrown in the ring, with the Bayern Munich star out of contract in the summer.
On the outgoing front, United have allowed two players to leave the club on loan. Toby Collyer, who spent the first half of the season at West Brom, has joined Hull City, while Harry Amass has made the move to Norwich City after enjoying a fruitful loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday.
Rhys Bennett is in talks to leave United and move back to Fleetwood Town, while Ethan Wheatley, who was recalled from his loan at Northampton Town last month, is close to signing for Bradford City.
Bruno Fernandes’ future has become the centre of increased speculation with Real Madrid swirling, while Marcus Rashford has been tipped to return to United despite impressing at Barcelona.
