A young man has been left in critical condition following a serious road traffic incident involving an e-scooter in Co Dublin.
Gardai responded to reports of a road traffic collision which occurred at Cappagh Road in Finglas, Dublin 11, shortly after 5pm.
When they arrived on the scene, gardai discovered a man, aged in his 20s, who had been travelling on an e-scooter, on the road with serious injuries.
Emergency services were called to the scene and the man was taken to Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown, where his condition is described as critical.
A technical examination of the scene has been carried out by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and the road has since reopened.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward.
A garda spokesperson said in a statement: “Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic incident that occurred at Cappagh Road, Finglas, Dublin 11, on Sunday, 15th June 2025.
“Any road users or pedestrians who were in the Cappagh Road area between Heathfield and Cappagh Hospital between 4:45pm and 5:05pm and may have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make it available.
“Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Blanchardstown Garda Station on 01 666 7000, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.”
The garda spokesperson said that investigations are ongoing.
