“My girlfriend saw it too. We were both looking at each other going, no way.”
A man saw a strange object from his bedroom window last night. Ryan, who asked for his surname not to be included, saw a strange flashing ball of light in Stockbridge Village but has no idea what it could have been.
The 28 year-old, who is originally from Huyton, said the lights was “pretty bizarre” and was visible in the sky all night. He told the ECHO: “I saw it out of my bedroom window at around 8.30pm. It looked like it was flashing every colour you could think of. They were quick flashes.
“My girlfriend saw it too. We were both looking at each other going, no way.” Ryan remains puzzled as to what it could have been. He said: “I felt it was some kind of UFO or something like that. I was laughing at first but then I thought, nah, this isn’t normal.”
It’s one of many strange light shows in Merseyside over the last few months.
Back on March 24 at around 8pm, a mysterious light was spotted ‘swirling’ through the sky in Halewood. One woman in Halewood took a video after witnessing the lights and sent it to the ECHO. She said the strange lights looked like a “white swirling galaxy floating” above her house.
Many made the link to the earlier launch of SpaceX rocket Falcon 9. Taking to Facebook, one confused user said: “Has anyone seen this weird thing travelling slowly across the sky? The spiral clouds expanded and then faded. I’ve heard it could be related to Space X.”
In a post on X, SpaceX said: “Falcon 9’s first stage has landed on LZ-1 in Florida” alongside a video of a rocket landing vertically at a landing zone.”
It is understood that the sky spiral is generated by extra fuel that was released from the SpaceX rocket, around three hours earlier.
On September 21, a tiny white glow was caught on video glistening in the skies over New Brighton. The video footage taken by Tom Fenna was captured from a window at the back of his home on Seabank Road at around 7.45pm and he believed it could have been a UFO.
Khristina Rainford, 48, from Aigburth, and her partner Shaun, 42, were cutting across a field on their way to see poet John Cooper Clarke at the Southport Comedy Festival on Wednesday, October 15, when they saw an unusual orange circle in the sky.
The light appeared to hover in the sky, growing larger and then smaller repeatedly. Determined to capture the strange sight, the couple began to film it. Khristina said: “We looked up and saw this weird orange circle in the sky. By the time we got our phones out to take a picture, it had disappeared. We carried on our way, and then we saw it again.
“At first, we thought it might have been a planet or even a blood moon, but it was too small. Then we thought it could be a Chinese lantern, but it was just hovering. Then it got really small, turned into a bright white light, and just vanished.”
Kaylee Matthews, 38, from Runcorn, spotted a mysterious purple light at around 8.35pm on Thursday October 30 while she and her partner were letting their dogs outside.
She said: “The way it was moving just looked really weird. It wasn’t coming from the ground because it covered far too much distance. There was no sound at all; you could hear the wind, but nothing else. It was far too big to be a drone and too slow to be a firework.
“It’s blown our minds. If it wasn’t for the fact that both me and my partner saw it and got video footage, I would think I was going insane.”
