A man who was involved in a two-vehicle collision in Mayo on Sunday afternoon has died as a result of his injuries, Gardaí have confirmed.
In an update issued on Tuesday afternoon, a Garda spokesperson confirmed that a man in his 50s, who was driving a motorcycle that collided with a car in the incident, has since passed away.
No other injuries were reported.
Gardaí are continuing to appeal for witnesses following the collision, which occurred on the Castlebar Road in Newport, Co. Mayo, on Sunday, 17 August at approximately 4.50pm.
A man aged in his 60s was later arrested in connection with the investigation and subsequently released without charge pending further investigations.
Gardaí are appealing to any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area of Castlebar Road, Newport, Co. Mayo between 4pm and 5pm on Sunday to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
