A man has died after being stabbed in a knife attack on a busy road.
The incident occurred shortly after 5pm on Sunday November 16th on Hutton Road in the Handsworth Wood area of Birmingham.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called to reports of a stabbing near to the junction off Stamford Road and Hutton Road at 5.22pm yesterday.
“One ambulance, a paramedic officer, a MERIT [Medical Emergency Response and Intervention Team] trauma doctor with a critical care paramedic and the Trust’s critical care car attended the scene.
“An off-duty doctor also stopped to offer assistance. On arrival we discovered one patient, a man, who had suffered serious injuries and was already receiving medical attention.
“Ambulance staff immediately began administering advanced life support but sadly, despite everyone’s best efforts, it became apparent nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”
West Midlands Police said it was in the early stages of its investigation, per Birmingham Live.
