
SUWANNEE COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) – A man is behind bars after a domestic dispute escalated into a standoff with law enforcement in Suwannee County on Wednesday afternoon, according to the sheriff’s office.
The incident unfolded in the 16200 block of 221st Road, just north of Mayo. Officials said a person called 911, saying a man had beaten and strangled them before they were able to escape and call the authorities, per SCSO.
Deputies say when they arrived, the suspect, Jeremy Brogdon, was inside the home, and they could hear a gun being loaded.

After trying to make contact, officials said Brogdon refused to come outside.
SCSO noted that due to the nature of the situation and prior threats made toward law enforcement, the SWAT team was brought in.
After a brief stand-off, drone video released by the Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office shows law enforcement taking Brogdon into custody.
Brogdon is facing charges of false imprisonment and felony battery by strangulation, according to officials.
