The new service is available now for customers living in Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Galway
DELIVEROO have launched a new game-changing service today for shoppers in Ireland.
The new service enables shoppers to order a wide range of products, including beauty and pet care, florists, technology, and gifts – all through the app.
Perfect for last-minute gifts, the speedy service will be a game-changer for Irish shoppers.
Since its successful launch of retail in the UK back in 2023, Deliveroo is pioneering the new category of “quick commerce” in Ireland.
The launch provides a boost for Irish consumers and businesses, as customers can now shop and engage with local retailers, and have their purchases delivered to their door in as little as 20 minutes.
The service is now officially live in Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Galway, with the first partners to join the launch being The Perfume Shop and Accessorise, alongside more than 20 local small and medium-sized businesses.
However, in the coming weeks, Deliveroo is set to partner with more exciting brands as it aims to expand its selection, similar to the food options available on the app.
The launch follows a significant shift in Irish consumer behaviour, with recent market analysis revealing a surge in demand for rapid delivery services.
According to An Post E-Commerce Research, over 70 per cent of online shoppers in Ireland now consider convenience as a key factor in their purchasing decisions.
And 29 per cent of customers have increased their frequency of online shopping.
The new service also responds to the rising customer demand for retail products on the app.
It was revealed that the platform’s data shows thousands of searches for products such as flowers, home appliances, stationery, gifts, and pharmaceuticals.
Speaking at the launch, Regional Director of Deliveroo Ireland, Helen Maher, said: “We’ve all been there – you need a last-minute birthday gift, you’ve run out of your favourite moisturiser, or you don’t want to leave the house mid-way through a DIY project because you need more paint.
“We want to solve that. Our mission is to bring the local community to your doorstep and this is a significant step forward to achieving that.
“It’s not just about convenience for our customers; it’s about creating a new and vital opportunity for Irish retailers.
“We directly support physical shops, providing a digital extension to the traditional storefront and generating a new revenue stream that goes straight back into stores.”
‘EXCITED TO EXPAND INTO IRELAND’
Managing Director at The Perfume Shop, Gill Smith, said: “Our existing partnership with Deliveroo in the UK has proven hugely successful, so we are excited to expand into Ireland.
“The partnership offers our customers a new level of speed and convenience while reaching a much wider audience.
“We’re thrilled to be among the first retailers in Ireland to offer on-demand delivery and look forward to serving consumers in this innovative new way.”
Head of Marketing at Accessorize, Madeleine McCleod, added: “We are extremely excited to be launching with Deliveroo in Ireland, offering customers the opportunity to shop our products with delivery to their door in under 25 minutes.
“Between office parties, last-minute gifting, and braving the winter weather, it’s not always easy to find time to shop but our collaboration with Deliveroo makes life much easier for our customers.”
