This program is designed for new readers and kids who want to practice their reading with a non-judgmental, furry audience — a.k.a. a trained therapy dog. Each child reads at their own pace to one or more friendly dogs. Adults are welcome to read to or help newer readers. There will be a selection of books on hand to read, or participants can bring their own. Each three-class series in the Studio Series provides an opportunity for adults to dive deeper into arts and crafts while enhancing their knowledge and skills in a variety of mediums and techniques. Learn watercolor basics to start a painting journey. Teen Library Committee Meeting: 4 p.m. Tuesday, Longmont Library, 409 Fourth Ave., Longmont. Join these monthly meetings of teens interested in having their voices heard at the library. Help decide what teen programs the library should offer, suggest books and movies to add to the library and work on creating a teen space that can better serve other teens. Tech Tuesday: 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Longmont Public Library, 409 Fourth Ave., Longmont. Swing by the computer lab on the second floor to take introductory technology classes. A new topic will be taught each session. This month’s theme is Filament February. Filament is a thin thread or a strand of some kind of material. In a light bulb, it’s the thin wire inside that glows and makes light when electricity passes through it. In 3D printing, it’s the thin plastic material that the printer melts and uses to build objects.
