Queensland Police are scrambling to locate an armed gunman who fled into the suburbs of the Sunshine Coast after crashing a car.
Just before 1pm on Sunday, a driver crashed a stolen vehicle crashed outside a property on Old Caloundra Road in Glenview on the Sunshine Coast.
At least one of the occupants of the crash vehicle is believed to be armed and is currently at large after fleeing on foot into the surrounding area.
Police have made an emergency declaration for the surrounds under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA), where residents are urged to remain indoors and the public are advised to avoid the area entirely.

The boundaries encompass the Bruce Highway interchange with Caloundra Road east, and Racecourse Road south to the intersection with Fred Chaplin Circuit.
Specialist police are in attendance.
