Residents in Alfred Cove, Ardross, and Booragoon are being advised to “leave the area” as a fire has broken out at Wireless Hill Park.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services said there is no immediate threat to lives or homes at this stage, but heavy smoke is present in the area.
DFES has urged anyone in the vicinity of Wireless Hill Park to consider leaving the area and to monitor conditions closely.
“If you are in the vicinity of Wireless Hill Park it is advised to leave the area,” the alert read.
“Watch for signs of a bushfire, especially smoke and flames.
“Close all doors and windows, and turn off evaporative air conditioners but keep water running through the system if possible.”
Drivers are advised to turn on headlights, reduce speed, watch for emergency personnel, and follow all directions.
If visibility becomes poor, drivers should safely pull over, keep headlights and hazard lights on, and wait until conditions improve.
