“Shrek the Musical”
Broke Thespians Theatre Company will present “Shrek the Musical,” a production based on the DreamWorks animated film, on weekends in July.”Stream of Consciousness”
The Inspired Minds Art Center Gallery will display the work of artist Christopher Powell, winner of the 2025 Buda Art Brawl, in the exhibit titled “Stream of Consciousness.” With a focus on light and shadow, Powell’s paintings depict scenes inspired by real-world and itinerary subjects. There will be an opening reception to meet the artist and explore the exhibit from 6-8 p.m. on July 18. The exhibit will be closed on Sundays.Welcome Mat for Backyard Birds
The local nonprofit organization, Travis Audubon Society, will teach guests how to attract backyard birds using native plants, water features, supplemental feeders and nest boxes.Movies in Your Park

A back-to-school themed vendor market will take place at the San Marcos Tanger Outlets. Students, parents and teachers can shop for school supplies, treats, gifts and more.Summer Reading Celebration
The Buda Public Library will celebrate the end of summer with a camp-themed party. Attendees can turn in their summer reading log for a certificate, play games, eat cupcakes, make crafts and more. The event will conclude with a circus-style performance from Mad About Hula Hoops. A sensory-friendly time will take place from 1:30-2 p.m.Growing Fall Vegetables
Hays County Master Gardener Jennifer Boley will present a class on growing vegetables at the Kyle Garden Club’s monthly meeting. Open to the public, the meeting will begin with light refreshments at 9:30 a.m., followed by an hour-long presentation at 10 a.m.Firefly Watch
