Pilla_eth, Lighter’s Head of Marketing, revealed Token Generation Event (TGE) details during a December 27 AMA event, including 2025 plans for a substantial airdrop for Lightner wallet holders.
The TGE’s design may boost LIT token market presence as 50% community allocation and major exchange roadmaps, like Coinbase and Bybit, signal potential growth in 2025.
Pilla_eth revealed that the TGE will see 25% of LIT tokens airdropped to Lightner wallet holders. Notably, 50% of the token supply is reserved for community allocation. Although further tokenomics details are forthcoming, a token buyback plan will be implemented, as affirmed in the event.
With LIT trading initially limited to the Lighter platform, both Coinbase and Bybit have added LIT to their future roadmaps without paid listings. The development of a new mobile app is reportedly poised to rival Centralized Exchange (CEX) applications, asserting Lighter’s presence in the competitive market space.
Despite hyper-speculation, the announcement clarified there would be no official Lighter NFTs, although community NFTs like Fuego gain acknowledgment. Pilla_eth dismissed meme coin airdrop rumors, consolidating the community’s focus on LIT’s structured launch.
