
LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 29th Jan, 2026) The Lahore General Hospital (LGH) on Thursday celebrated its 67th anniversary with a special ceremony to commemorate its historic journey and invaluable contributions to the healthcare sector.
Principal Amir-ud-Din Medical College (AMC) Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal graced the occasion as the chief guest, while Medical Superintendent Prof. Dr. Faryad Hussain, senior faculty members, doctors, and the nursing administration were also in attendance. Principal College of Nursing Samina Kousar and Nursing Superintendent Saima Fateh were among the notable participants.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal termed LGH a beacon of hope and healing, saying that since its inception the hospital has been providing quality healthcare services to millions of patients without any discrimination. He highlighted that under the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, LGH is undergoing significant improvements in medical equipment and treatment standards through pro-health government policies.
A commemorative cake-cutting ceremony was also held to mark the hospital’s 67-year legacy. The administration reaffirmed its commitment to transforming Lahore General Hospital into a global-standard center for medical research and education, emphasizing that the presence of expert healthcare professionals and advanced technology has made LGH a trusted name for patients across the country.
The ceremony concluded with participants renewing their pledge to serve suffering humanity with dedication and zeal, expressing their resolve to further strengthen the hospital’s mission and work towards a healthier and brighter future for the public.
