Leeds United have been left “devastated” after a supporter passed away ahead of their Premier League clash with Manchester United on Sunday lunchtime.
Daniel Farke’s side drew 1-1 with the Red Devils, after Brenden Aaronson’s opener at Elland Road was cancelled out by Matheus Cunha quick equaliser. However, the Peacocks announced the tragic news hours after the full-time whistle.
In a statement on social media, Leeds said: “Leeds United is devastated to confirm that a supporter sadly passed away following a medical emergency ahead of today’s game. The thoughts of everyone at the club are with the family and friends of the supporter at this exceptionally difficult time.”
