
The Institute of Leadership Coaching and Strategy (ILCS) has paid a courtesy visit to the Lagos State Head of Service as part of efforts to deepen collaboration on leadership development, capacity building and good governance in the state’s public service.
The ILCS Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, Mrs Ifeoma Adeniyi, disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday in Lagos, noting that the visit formed part of the Institute’s ongoing leadership engagement with public and private sector leaders.
According to Adeniyi, the interactive engagements are designed to promote leadership sensitisation, build institutional capacity and advance advocacy for national development.
She said the ILCS delegation was received on behalf of the Head of Service, Mr Olabode Agoro, by the Permanent Secretary, Office of the Head of Service, Mrs Olasunkanmi Oyebola. The meeting was also attended by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Establishments and Training, Mrs Olubusola Abidakun, alongside other senior officials.
Welcoming the delegation, Agoro said Lagos State operates as a centre beyond excellence, driven by well-trained, competent and loyal civil servants. He stated that the state remains open to partnerships with organisations that add value through strategic capability building and impactful programmes.
Agoro expressed willingness to collaborate with institutions that can help sustain and strengthen the state’s public service standards through training and development initiatives. He also congratulated ILCS on its international affiliations and certifications, including partnerships with the International Federation of Training Organisations and other development bodies.
According to him, the recognitions affirm the Institute’s commitment to professionalism and societal impact, adding that ILCS could collaborate with government through the Ministry of Establishments and Training to deliver learning, development and coaching programmes.
Speaking on behalf of the Institute, its President and Chairman of the Governing Council, Dr Olasunkade Azeez, appreciated the warm reception and commended the Head of Service for leading what he described as a world-class civil service.
Azeez noted that competent civil services across the globe play a critical role in shaping society through professionalism, loyalty and effective support for government policies and programmes.
He said the Institute’s mission is to foster a culture of excellence in leadership, coaching and strategy through collaboration, training, coaching programmes and advocacy.
Azeez added that ILCS flagship inductions, webinars and international certifications reflect its commitment to nurturing responsive and responsible leaders. He expressed confidence that the Institute’s values align with Lagos State’s capacity-building initiatives.
According to him, the proposed collaboration would support leadership renewal, good governance and the sustainable development of Lagos State. He outlined benefits of the partnership to include bespoke training programmes, professional certifications and access to global leadership networks.
He also encouraged the Office of the Head of Service to motivate key personnel to join the Institute’s membership for continuous professional development and ethical best practices.
