PESHAWAR: The handwritten resignation by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister (CM) Ali Amin Gandapur reached the Governor’s House on Saturday.
Special Assistant to CM Brigadier (r) Musaddiq Abbasi took the resignation to the Governor’s House where he delivered it to the house’s caretaker Imran Khan.
The time mentioned on the receipt was 2:30 PM.
In a post uploaded on X platform, KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi confirmed receiving the resignation.
“Today at 2:30 pm, the handwritten resignation advice of the CM Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was duly received and acknowledged by Governor House. After thorough scrutiny and legal formalities as per the Constitution & relevant laws, subject resignation will be processed in due course of time,” he wrote.
Salman Akram Raja says nation stands by PTI
Also on Saturday, addressing a press conference in Peshawar, PTI leader Salman Akram Raja said that the nation stood by the party.
He said that now when the February 8 elections had been rigged, it was high time that brakes were applied to the persecution of PTI. “The transition from Gandapur to Sohail Afridi will mark a new beginning,” he said, adding that whatever the government wanted to do, it should do following consultations with all the stakeholders. “There is no place on earth where disputes are not settled through negotiations,” Salman emphasized.
He made it clear that the PTI stood by the martyrs of the Pakistan Army. “We have no soft corner for the militants.”
But the point was, he further said, that militancy had its roots in KP, and that it could not be eliminated through military might only. “These military operations must now come to an end,” he demanded.
He also rejected the allegation that it was the PTI government which had brought the militants back to the country and allowed them to settle here. “This was not our plan. Don’t point fingers at us.”
The PTI leader pointed out that Pakistan’s relations with Afghanistan deteriorated due to the present government’s policies.
Referring to yesterday’s presser addressed by the DG ISPR, Salman said he did not want to respond to its each and every word.
He lamented that the PTI was being threatened with the imposition of Governor’s rule in KP.
