With Ministry of Science and ICT, event explores blockchain’s role in stablecoins and digital economy infrastructure
The Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) announced on the 3rd that it will co-host the ‘2026 Blockchain Academic Exchange Conference (Meetup Conference)’ with the Ministry of Science and ICT at the Seoul Textile Center on the 12th.
This year’s theme, ‘Trust Becomes Infrastructure: Blockchain and Stablecoins Opening the Digital Economy,’ will focus on blockchain’s role as a trust technology and its expanding applications during the digital transition. In particular, the conference will center on the ‘digital trust foundation’ and the ‘value-stable digital asset (stablecoin) ecosystem,’ discussing specific institutional and technical applications of blockchain and its direction in the financial sector.
KISA stated, “As the AI transition (AX) accelerates, technologies and services based on digital assets — such as value-stable digital assets (stablecoins), tokenized securities (STO), and digital product passports (DPP) — are expanding. Blockchain is gaining attention as a core technology that establishes trust in citizens’ daily lives and across industries.”
The event is open to everyone free of charge and can also be attended via online live streaming.
Shin Dae-gyu, Head of the Digital Infrastructure Headquarters at Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), said, “This event confirms that blockchain is expanding and solidifying as a foundational technology for trust in the digital economy. We will continue to focus on enhancing trust levels in the digital environment through blockchain technology.”
