PanARMENIAN.Net – At the opening of the National Assembly session, head of the Civil Contract parliamentary faction Hayk Konjoryan said opposition forces did not rethink their positions over the summer recess and continue to repeat the same old narratives.
“If you’re curious how the opposition spent the summer break, there’s no need to think too hard — we saw they didn’t learn anything new. The same old texts again,” he said, stressing that the opposition is in a bankrupt state, especially after the August 8 events in Washington, and once again resorts to “singing old songs,” Radar Armenia reports.
He further noted that opposition speakers continue to invoke individuals accused of terrorism.
“What would have happened if that act of terrorism had been carried out? There would have been no August 8, no initial signing of the peace agreement and declaration between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Today, there is peace in Armenia and in the region — peace that is more than real,” Konjoryan said.
On August 8, during a trilateral meeting at the White House between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, U.S. President Donald Trump, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, a joint Declaration was signed. In the presence of the leaders, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov initialed the Agreement “On Peace and the Establishment of Interstate Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan.”
