
The Microsoft Student Society of UEM Kolkata, in collaboration with KIBA, organized CHAINSPHERE, a two-day flagship event spotlighting Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, and emerging technologies.
The Microsoft Student Society of the University of Engineering & Management, Kolkata, in association with the Kolkata International Blockchain Association (KIBA), successfully organized a two-day flagship event titled CHAINSPHERE on 22 January and 24 January 2026, focusing on Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, and emerging technologies.
The event commenced on 22 January with a competitive No-Code AI Competition, where students showcased innovative AI-driven solutions without traditional coding, reflecting the growing adoption of accessible AI technologies.
The second day, held on 24 January, featured an in-depth Blockchain Workshop, followed by an engaging quiz session, designed to enhance practical understanding and career awareness in blockchain and Web3 technologies.
The highlight of the workshop was the keynote address by Kalyanjit Hatibaruah, Chairman of the Flugelsoft Group and Advisory Board Member of Kolkata International Blockchain Association, who attended as the Chief Guest Speaker. With over 25 years of experience in emerging technologies, including Blockchain, Web3, Artificial Intelligence, and Digital Transformation, Mr. Hatibaruah shared valuable insights on future career opportunities in the technology sector. He is also a Visiting Faculty at New Delhi Institute of Management, Mentor at IIT Madras (Nirmaan) and IIM Kozhikode, and is actively associated with leading innovation platforms such as T-Hub, STPI, and India Accelerator, besides serving as a jury member for several institutional and government hackathons across India.
The event also featured sessions by Rittik Das, Founder of FilmFinance.App; Sweta Karar, Blockchain Engineer at Hacken; and Soumik Bakshi, AI Engineer at Payram, who provided industry-driven perspectives on blockchain applications, AI innovation, and real-world use cases.
President of Kolkata International Blockchain Association, Prince Choudhury, and Vice President Mukoot Ali were present at the event. Addressing the gathering, Mr. Choudhury stated that the Kolkata International Blockchain Association is always ready to collaborate with academic institutions, organizations, and government bodies to transform Kolkata into a Blockchain Hub of India.
The event was successfully coordinated by Snehasish Das, Dipanjali Dutta, Praneet Singh, and Priyanshu Mitra from the Microsoft Student Society, UEM Kolkata.
