Kelly Osbourne has shared her heartfelt thoughts about her continuing grief after the tragic loss of her father. Rock legend Ozzy Osbourne passed away in July last year aged 76 following years of battling health issues.
The Osbourne family were devastated by his death – and Kelly has regularly spoken about her emotional turmoil in the months that have followed. In a recent social media post, the mum-of-one revealed she is noticing a shift in how she is coping with the devastating loss.
Kelly – who got engaged to Slipknot musician Sid Wilson, 49, in 2022 and has a two year old son with him – wrote a heartfelt message about her feelings on Instagram Stories. The post started: “Some grief doesn’t end. It changes shape. It becomes the quiet weight you learn to carry, the ache woven into your days.”

Kelly went on: “Making it through doesn’t mean leaving it behind. It means finding the strength to live and love and keep going even with forever resting in your heart. When grief feels endless and disastrous, like it’s unmaking you from the inside out, surviving isn’t about conquering it. It’s about enduring it.”
She concluded: “It’s about standing in the wreckage of our own heart and whispering, ‘I am still here,’ even when every part of you feels shattered, and like you don’t want to be here.”, reports the Mirror.
The touching post was subsequently accompanied by a brief video of Kelly and her toddler son embracing whilst wishing her followers a pleasant morning.
Earlier this month, whilst attending the 2026 Grammy Awards, which featured a tribute to the musical genius of Ozzy, Kelly spoke candidly about her bereavement. She told PEOPLE: “That’s the hardest thing I’ve ever been through in my life. But I have my man, and I have my gorgeous baby, and my mom and my brother and I so bonded. I didn’t think we could ever get more bonded, but we did.”
She also mentioned that she doesn’t comprehend why people pretend to be fine following such heartbreak. She continued: “People usually say, ‘I’m great’ [Months after a death of a loved one, but] I’m not doing so great.”
Discussing her new traditions, Kelly described how she consistently lights a candle in Ozzy’s memory. She revealed there is always a vacant chair at her dining table in his honour, whilst she wears a special locket.
She added: “It’s under my dress, you can’t see it, but it has his picture in it, and my baby opens it every day and gives it a kiss and says hi to Papa. And every time I see the clock at 11:11, I know that’s him talking to me.”
The Grammy’s featured a remarkable tribute to Ozzy when the ceremony was broadcast at the start of February. Fellow artist Yungblud was among those performing on stage in honour of the Black Sabbath frontman.
Speaking on stage, he said: “To grow up loving an idol who helps you figure out your identity, not only as a musician, but also as a man, is something I’m really grateful for.
“But to then get to know them and honour them at their final show and receive this [his award] is something I am struggling to comprehend, we f****** love you Ozzy.”
He added: “The last time I saw Ozzy Osbourne, he asked me if there was anything he could do for me, and that the ‘music was enough’. God bless Ozzy Osbourne, and God bless f***** rock music!”.
Ozzy’s sudden death was announced last July, just days after the star had led a farewell performance with Black Sabbath in Birmingham. His passing came five years after he disclosed he had been diagnosed with a form of Parkinson’s disease.
The family statement announcing his death read: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis.”
Ozzy had struggled with numerous health problems in his later years – and nearly lost his life in 2003 following injuries sustained in a quad bike crash. The accident led to him needing an operation, with reports showing he endured back pain and couldn’t walk properly, living with persistent discomfort.
