Actress Kajol has once again grabbed attention, but not for the right reasons. A new Kajol viral video from the Maharashtra State Film Awards on August 6, 2025, is making rounds online. The actress was on the red carpet when a reporter asked her to speak in Hindi.
Kajol, who was being honoured at the event on her birthday, sharply replied in Marathi, “Hindi mein bolu? Jyala samajaycha aahe tyala samajel…” which translates to, “Should I speak in Hindi? Those who need to understand, will understand…” While some fans praised her use of Marathi, many felt her tone was rude and dismissive.
The Kajol viral video quickly sparked a debate online. Many social media users called her “Jaya Bachchan 2.0,” comparing her to the veteran actress who’s known for her cold behaviour with the press.

This isn’t the first time Kajol has been called out for her attitude. At a press meet for Salaam Venky, she lashed out at paparazzi by saying, “Chillana is stupid” and insisted she would do “what I want to.” Similarly, at the Kesari Chapter 2 screening, she rolled her eyes and told photographers to “calm down” while posing for pictures with Ananya Panday. These clips also went viral and attracted criticism for her behaviour.
Kajol has also been criticised for interrupting others during public panels and interviews. Netizens pointed out that her blunt tone often overshadows her message. In another incident, she cancelled a fan meet-and-greet in New York due to illness. While that’s understandable, many fans expressed disappointment, and the organisers had to issue refunds. This led to online debates about her professionalism and treatment of fans.
Despite the backlash, Kajol continues to stay in the limelight. Her recent films, Maa and Sarzamee,n didn’t perform well, but she has new projects lined up.
