
It was confirmed in November 2024 that The Other World’s Books Depend on the Bean Counter light novels are getting an anime adaptation. The original work comes from creator Yatsuki Wakatsu and artist Kikka Ohashi, which began in 2019 and has three volumes so far. A manga adaptation has been underway since 2020, which has six volumes.
The series has Shinji Ishihara directing it from the series composition by Yoshiko Nakamura. Maki Fujii is handling the character designs with Studio DEEN on the animation production.
The property made a January 6th, 2026, premiere date, and was set for twelve episodes. The home video releases will also include an OVA with the third and final volume. With that in mind, Kadokawa has now scheduled the releases with separate DVD and Blu-ray editions. The DVDs are priced at 11,000 yen, while the Blu-rays are at 13,000 yen. The Japanese cast includes Kent Itō as Seiichirō Kondō, Tomoaki Maeno as Aresh Indrak, Hiroki Tōchi as Kamil, Seiichirō Yamashita as Norbert, Tomohiro Yamaguchi as Julius, Yuna Kamakura as Yua Shiraishi, Takaaki Torashima as Ist, Yūki Ono as Siegvold, Win Morisaki as Ciro, Kazuyuki Okitsu as Orjef, and Shiori Izawa as Selio.
The opening is “Magic” by kobore while the ending theme song is “Back to Back” performed by Win Morisaki.
