Ka-ching: world’s best sprinter Ka Ying Rising claims $20 million TAB Everest in international coupHayden KingThe West AustralianSat, 18 October 2025 1:30PMCommentsCommentsEmail Hayden King
Champion racehorse Ka Ying Rising has justified his title of the world’s best sprinter in a landmark Group 1 $20 million TAB Everest (1200m) success at Randwick, with the Hong Kong superstar beating Australia’s best.
Beaten for early speed by Overpass ($41) and Mazu ($126), Zac Purton lobbed behind the pacemakers in a stalking role before peeling out three wide around the home bend.
Coming under pressure early in the straight, the five-year-old relied on all his star qualities as challengers queued up behind but fell short as the $2 favourite held them at bay to score by a length.
