Nagpur: The Janardan Swami Yogabhyasi Mandal (JSYM), one of the country’s oldest yoga institutions, will celebrate its platinum jubilee with a grand Amrit Mahotsavi International Yog Convention from November 7 to 9 in Ram Nagar, Nagpur.Founded in 1951 by Paramahansa Parivrajakacharya Yogamurti Shri Janardanswamiji, the Mandal has been imparting free yoga education for over seven decades with the aim of building a healthier and more harmonious society.The three-day residential convention will open on November 7 at 6 pm, while the valedictory function is scheduled for November 9 at 6 pm. Several eminent dignitaries are expected to attend, including Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union AYUSH Minister Prataprao Jadhav, state BJP president Chandrashekhar Bawankule, spiritual leader Govind Dev Giri Ji Maharaj, Shri Vivekji Ghalsasi, Dr Bharati Thakur, and Dr Madhusudan Penna.The event will feature practical yoga workshops, lectures on Yoga Sutras and philosophy, expert talks on yoga therapy and nutrition, keynote addresses, interactive interviews, cultural performances, and quiz competitions.Registrations can be done online at http://www.jsyog.org or in person at the Mandal between 7 and 9 am. Secretary Milind Wazalwar has invited yoga enthusiasts and citizens to be part of this landmark celebration.
