Australia’s unemployment rate has fallen in October as businesses gear up for a busy end of the year.
The latest figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics show the unemployment rate has dropped to 4.3 per cent.
The fall came as 42,000 Australians entered the workforce.
The growth in the job market came as full-time work rose by 55,300 jobs, while part-time work fell by 13,100.
The participation rate remains at a near historic high of 67 per cent.
According to the figures Australians are also working slightly more with hours work up 0.1 per cent to just under 2 billion.
ABS head of labour statistics Sean Crick said the unemployment rate is now in line with the June quarter.
Markets were expecting around 20,000 jobs to be created and the unemployment rate to fall to 4.4 per cent.
This followed a shock rise to 4.5 per cent in September.
