Ahmedabad: The Directorate General of Resettlement (DGR), under the ministry of defence, organised a job fair for ex-servicemen at Ahmedabad Military Station on Friday which was attended by over 1,100 ex-servicemen from the Army, Navy, and Air Force.The event aimed to connect retired armed forces personnel with corporate employers, had 50 of 70 registered companies offering more than 1,000 vacancies across sectors, said a statement issued by the Defence PRO. The vacancies were for supervision, technical support, administration, and management.Shortlisted candidates will now undergo further interviews and screening. The fair provided a platform for ex-servicemen to showcase their discipline, skills, and experience to prospective employers.Senior officers including Major General Gaurav Bagga, commander Vikrant Kishore (DGR), and CII Gujarat’s former chairman Vimal Ambani addressed the gathering. Representatives from Gujarat and Vadodara chambers of commerce and corporates like Adani Power Ltd also participated.The initiative is part of DGR’s broader effort to facilitate second careers for veterans.
