Sarai alamgir: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Northern Punjab, Dr. Tariq Saleem, has said that Jamaat-e-Islami’s public committees provide an effective platform for addressing citizens’ problems. He urged people to join these committees to seek solutions to their grievances, noting that many are facing hardships due to government policies.
Addressing a members’ convention in Sarai Alamgir, Dr. Tariq Saleem criticized the government for imposing heavy taxes on petrol, diesel, gas, and electricity, while allegedly giving the sugar mafia a free hand. He stated that a large number of people nationwide have already joined Jamaat-e-Islami, and in the second phase, the party is establishing public committees at the union council and ward levels.
The event was also addressed by Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami District Gujrat, Chaudhry Ansar Mahmood Dhoul Advocate, Rana Muhammad Umar Siddique, Chaudhry Khurram Shahzad Gorala, Dr. Younus Chaudhry, and Dr. Syed Haider Ehsan Shah.
Dr. Tariq Saleem reiterated that Jamaat-e-Islami is committed to safeguarding Pakistan’s ideological and geographical boundaries. He said the party has always stood by the nation during testing times, serving the country and the Ummah without prejudice. Highlighting the leadership of Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, he said the party is actively fighting for the rights of the oppressed, including the poor, laborers, farmers, and marginalized communities.
Dr. Tariq Saleem criticized the lack of relief for citizens despite falling global oil prices, alleging that the benefits are diverted to the elite, who enjoy free petrol, electricity, and other privileges, making them indifferent to the plight of the poor.
