The New York Knicks officially sign former San Antonio Spurs forward Jeremy Sochan

Jeremy Sochan is set to resume his NBA career with the New York Knicks, with his new team formally welcoming the 22-year-old forward on Friday.
Following a joint decision to part ways with the San Antonio Spurs, he was previously linked to a career move to the New York franchise.
Per the press release: “The New York Knicks announced today that the team has signed Jeremy Sochan.
Sochan, 22-year-old (6-8, 230-pounds), has appeared in 28 games with the San Antonio Spurs this season, recording 4.1 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.0 assists over 12.8 minutes. During his sophomore season in 2023-24, he recorded career highs of 11.6 points and 3.4 assists to go along with 6.4 rebounds over 29.6 minutes in 74 games (73 starts). Sochan was named to the 2022-23 All-Rookie Second Team when he averaged 11.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists over 26.0 minutes in 56 games (53 starts). He was the seventh fastest Spur in franchise history to record 1,500 points and 1,000 rebounds. Over parts of four seasons, he holds career averages of 10.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 2.6 assists over 25.3 minutes in 212 games (149 starts) for the Spurs.
The Guymon, OK-native was originally selected by the San Antonio Spurs with the ninth overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft out of Baylor. Sochan was named to the 2021-22 All-Big 12 Freshman Team and Big 12 Sixth-Man of the Year. He played 30 games in his lone season at Baylor averaging 9.2 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.27 steals in 25.1 minutes, helping the Bears to a 27-7 record and second straight Big 12 title. He became the first freshman in Baylor Men’s Basketball history to record a double-double in an NCAA tournament game, posting 15 points and 11 rebounds vs. North Carolina on Mar. 19, 2022. He also became the youngest player in Polish Men’s National Team history when he competed against Romania in a FIBA EuroBasket qualifier in February 2021 at the age of 17.”
