JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – A Jackson County man was arrested after a nearly year-long investigation into the illegal harvesting and sale of white-tailed deer.
According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), Jeremy Christopher Kyle Collins, 22, allegedly unlawfully killed at least 15 white tailed deer in Jackson County during the 2024-2025 hunting season.
FWC said the investigators learned that several violations allegedly occurred. Those violations included taking deer during the closed season, at night with the aid of a gun and light, exceeding the season bag limit, using firearms during archery season, and violating antler restriction regulations.
We’re told some of the illegally taken deer were then sold, which is also a violation of state law.
After the investigation, Collins was arrested and charged with 26 felony and misdemeanor offenses in violation of Florida’s conservation laws.
