Israel releases shocking video exposing Hamas beatings and executions of Palestinians in Gaza Kimberley BraddishThe NightlyThu, 23 October 2025 5:46AMCommentsComments

New footage released by Israel shows Hamas militants in Gaza continuing a brutal campaign of beatings and executions against Palestinians, despite claims the punishments had ended.

Following international outrage over a video showing militants publicly executing seven so-called “collaborators” in Gaza City, the Israeli Foreign Ministry has shared further disturbing material from inside the Gaza Strip.

The latest footage depicts suspected Hamas gunmen dragging a man through the street while kicking him as he cries out in pain. One assailant fires shots into the man’s leg and torso, while another terrified man breaks down in tears.

The militants continue their violent assault on captured individuals as Hamas struggles to reassert authority during an ongoing ceasefire with Israel.

“We call on all media outlets to give appropriate coverage to this threat to regional security,” the Ministry posted on X alongside the graphic video, which was later taken down. “Responsible journalism should shine a light on this.”

The Foreign Ministry described Hamas as “the terror state controlling Gaza” and accused it of brutalising its own people to regain control. The content appears to show masked fighters beating an injured man mercilessly with sticks, forcing him back onto the street when he tries to find cover.

In a separate clip, the ministry challenged vocal supporters of Palestine who defend Hamas, asking: “Where are you? All the loud voices, the moral preachers, the queers for Palestine … are these your freedom fighters?”

Although Hamas denies mistreating Gaza citizens, channels linked to the group have posted videos of Palestinians being shot or violently punished for alleged infractions such as stealing aid, drug use, or collaborating with Israel.

The Israeli Defence Force also shared a video on X on Wednesday, saying, “Meet the Arrow Unit: Hamas’ brutal enforcers silencing anyone who dares to speak up.”

Palestinian resident Mohammad told The Times of Israel: “The situation is frightening. From the moment the ceasefire began (on October 10), we started seeing random killings. It sows fear among Gaza residents, and sadly, it’s still going on. There are gunmen who will kill you for alleged collaboration, or for reasons you don’t even know.”

Recently, family members of Hisham al-Saftawi reported he was killed inside his home by Hamas gunmen. Mohammad confirmed the shooting and said it occurred in front of al-Saftawi’s children.

“They didn’t give an excuse,” he said, accusing Hamas of acting without justification.

The footage and testimonies are part of a harsh crackdown by Hamas members who have killed at least 33 rivals during this recent push to control Gaza. Reports suggest many killed belong to the powerful Doghmush clan, one of Hamas’s main adversaries. According to a family elder, the Doghmush area has been besieged by Hamas operatives wielding mortars and RPGs.

The Trump administration has warned that these beating and execution episodes violate the ceasefire, with the US State Department cautioning: “Should Hamas proceed with this attack, measures will be taken to protect the people of Gaza and preserve the integrity of the ceasefire.”

Mr Trump initially appeared to support Hamas’s efforts to crack down on violent gangs, but later warned the group to halt attacks on civilians or face international troop deployment.

On Tuesday, Mr Trump claimed multiple Middle Eastern allies were ready to intervene to “straighten (out) Hamas” if its violent behaviour continued, threatening the end of Hamas would be “FAST, FURIOUS & BRUTAL”.
