Corey Mylchreest has quickly become a Netflix heartthrob thanks to his swoonworthy roles as a young King George in Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story and, more recently, as Jamie Davenport in My Oxford Year. But what about his life off-screen — does the British actor have his own romantic storyline IRL? Here’s what we know.
While Corey keeps his personal life mostly out of the spotlight, he confirmed during a 2023 interview with Extra that he was in a relationship at the time.
Speaking about how he prepped for Queen Charlotte, he said, “As soon as I got the job, I was like, ‘Alright, I gotta binge this thing.’ I sat down with my girlfriend and we did the whole shebang.”
That girlfriend is reportedly actress Hannah Holland, though very little is known about her, and the couple hasn’t been seen publicly — at least not by fans or cameras — since Wimbledon 2024, more than a year ago.
Corey hasn’t spoken publicly about the current status of the relationship since, leaving fans to speculate whether he’s still taken or quietly single. However, in an interview with India Today, he did joke about his love language: “Just gifts. Three times. Gift, gift, gifts. Give me gifts, and I will give you gifts.”
After watching My Oxford Year, fans were quick to ship the film’s leads — and with all that chemistry onscreen, it’s easy to wonder: are Corey Mylchreest and Sofia Carson dating in real life?
As of now, there’s no confirmation of anything romantic going on between them off-screen. Still, their flirty banter during interviews hasn’t helped stop the speculation.
ICYMI, My Oxford Year is based on the novel by Julia Whelan, and follows Anna De La Vega (played by Sofia), a New Yorker who relocates to Oxford for a year-long poetry fellowship. There, she meets Jamie Davenport (Corey), and the two fall into a whirlwind romance that challenges her carefully planned future.
In one interview with India Today, Corey joked, “We actually quite dislike each other. That’s why it’s the best work as actors till date. We’re actually green-screened in together in the same room.”
Sofia, laughing, added, “We actually cannot be in the same room.”
