The XRP price is in a strong uptrend as Ripple Swell’s star-studded lineup is fueling speculation of major developments for the cryptocurrency.
In particular, Maxwell Stein (BlackRock’s Director of Digital Assets) and Adena Friedman (Nasdaq CEO) headlining Ripple’s flagship conference has intensified talks that BlackRock could be entering the spot XRP ETF sweepstakes.
The XRP price has climbed over 18% from its September low, trading as high as $3.18 on Saturday.
With the ongoing broader market rally and the September 18th launch of REX-Osprey’s XRP ETF, experts predict that XRP is poised for a rally to $3.60 and subsequently to new all-time highs.
Ripple Swell is the company’s annual flagship conference, bringing together global leaders in finance, crypto, and regulation to discuss the future of payments and digital assets.
Some of Ripple Swell’s headline speakers include Brad Garlinghouse (CEO, Ripple), Chris Larsen (Co-Founder & Executive Chairman), Monica Long (President), and Stuart Alderoty (Chief Legal Officer).
Other notables are Sandy Kaul of Franklin Templeton, Cynthia Lo Bessette of Fidelity Digital Asset Management, and Hunter Horsley of Bitwise.
However, two names are especially stirring speculation: Maxwell Stein (Director of Digital Assets at BlackRock) and Adena Friedman (Chair & CEO of Nasdaq).
Notably, Nasdaq is the listing venue for BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs, and the one that files the key 19b-4 proposals with the SEC.
That makes the presence of Nasdaq CEO Adena Friedman at Ripple Swell especially intriguing, as investors speculate whether a similar path could open for a BlackRock XRP ETF.
Back in August, a BlackRock spokesperson clarified that the firm had no immediate plans to expand its crypto ETF lineup beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum.
However, ETF Institute’s Nate Geraci is confident that a BlackRock spot XRP ETF is coming, citing the asset’s regulatory clarity and its mainstream demand.
If REX-Osprey’s XRP ETF, set to launch on September 18th, records strong inflows, BlackRock and Fidelity could be forced to join the XRP’s spot ETF sweepstakes. Notably, Fidelity Digital Asset Management’s Cynthia Lo Bassette will also speak at Ripple Swell.
The XRP price has reclaimed $3, trading as high as $3.18 on Friday. It has staged a stunning 18% rally from the $2.69 September low.
As apparent from the XRP price chart above, it has broken out of a multi-month descending trendline. This coincides with a bullish divergence between its price and on-balance volume (OBV), which is always an excellent “buy” signal for sidelined investors.
XRP now faces a key resistance level at $3.30. A bullish breakout here would pave the way for a new all-time high.
Prominent analyst Ali Martinez predicts that the XRP price is poised for a rally to $3.60 if it secures a weekly close above $3.
Meanwhile, Stedar Crypto’s Dario Suveljak claims that the token is on the cusp of breaking out of a weekly bull flag, which would give mid-term and long-term price targets of $6, $13 and $23.
