The 1xBet India website claims the company offers many sports betting options to its registered users. It lists games like Aviator Game Online, Cricket betting line, and Online Casino Slots and accepts bets through Telegram payments on sporting events such as football, basketball, cricket, tennis, and e-sports.
Former Trinamool Congress MP Mimi Chakraborty and Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela , on Sunday, received summons from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the alleged illegal betting app-linked money laundering case, said official sources.
The ED has asked Chakraborty to depose before it on Monday at its Delhi headquarters regarding the case tied to the app 1xBet, while Rautela is scheduled to appear before the agency on Tuesday, sources added.
The case pertains to the illegal betting app 1xBet case, in which the ED has already questioned many actresses and cricketers.
Earlier on September 4, former Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan also faced ED questioning for approximately eight hours in connection with alleged money laundering tied to an “unauthorised” gaming app endorsed by him in advertisements.
Apart from Dhawan, former cricketer Suresh Raina was interrogated by the federal probe agency in the 1xBet case earlier in August.
Dhawan, who owns the South Delhi Superstarz team in the Delhi Premier League, retired from all forms of cricket in August last year after a career spanning over a decade.
The ED is currently investigation multiple cases involving illegal betting apps that are alleged to have duped numerous people and investors worth crores of rupees or have evaded a huge amount of taxes.

The app’s company is headquartered in Cyprus and is among the largest online casinos. The company is known to have sponsored football teams in Spain and France. Following investigations into alleged financial wrongdoings, the company was forced to withdraw services from the UK, the US, Russia, Spain and France.
Recently, the Union government introduced legislation banning real-money online gaming.
Last month, the Parliament passed the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, 2025, aiming to regulate the online gaming and e-sports sector, along with prohibiting all online games involving money.
According to estimates by market analysis firms and probe agencies, there are approximately 22 crore Indian users in various such online betting apps, out of which half (about 11 crore) are regular users.
In India, the online betting app market is worth over USD 100 billion, which is growing at a rate of 30 per cent, according to the experts.
Besides, the Union government recently informed the Parliament that as many as 1,524 orders banning gambling platforms were issued between 2022 and June 2025.
