Former Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has launched a fresh verbal attack on President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

This, El-Rufai branded it as a government without good intentions for Nigerians, saying “I know evil when I see it.”

Speaking during a recent engagement on Channels TV’s Sunday Politics, monitored by Legit.ng, on Monday, September 1, El-Rufai alleged that Tinubu’s government has worsened the living conditions of citizens rather than alleviating their conditions.

El-Rufai further noted that over 30 million Nigerians have now been plunged into poverty since the emergence of this government.

Speaking still, the ADC chieftain did not mince words when he boldly described the Tinubu-led government’s policies as destructive.

Hear him:

“I am the only person qualified to call it evil, because I know evil when I see it. Thirty million people have been thrown into poverty.

“The results are on the ground, and we are free to assess our government even two weeks after, by its policies.”

The former Kaduna governor referenced a conversation with an elder statesman who, according to him, had observed Nigeria’s governments since the 1959 elections.

“He said, since then, I have seen governments, and I have been part of some governments. As far as I know, evil government in Nigeria usually comes with the right intention to make the country better, except this one.

“This is the only government that came from day one only to make money for itself and its cronies. This is cronyism of the highest order,” El-Rufai recounted.

Taking a swipe at President Tinubu, El-Rufai described him as an ‘old man’ who lacks genuine and appropriate plans for Nigerians.

“This old man, he is in his age. I have never seen anything like this. There is not even a pretense of good intention,” he said, quoting the elder statesman.

El-Rufai emphasised that Nigerians had the right to criticise and evaluate their leaders.

“We are the voters, we are the judge. Those who are being governed are the ones who must speak the truth about what they see,” he declared.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that on Sunday, August 31, the immediate past governor of Kaduna state, Nasir El-Rufai, revealed that he is unperturbed by critics who describe him as a fundamentalist.

El-Rufai made this assertion in an interview on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics. According to the former governor, those who hold them neither know him personally nor have worked with him.
