“I mean, everyone messes up my name, so I give up. I don’t care,” the actress, who’s been on our screens for 35 years, said.
The actress said she answers to all versions of her name – including “Kristen” and “Ker-sten” – though “Keer-sten” is the proper pronunciation.
“I don’t blame people. Like, in England, they don’t really say my name right,” Dunst said.
Even coworkers have gotten it wrong.
“The last set, everyone was saying my name wrong,” she said.
“There was, like, Swedish people and people from Hungary. You just give up.”
Dunst has previously dropped a clue, saying in interviews that her nickname is “Kiki”, originating from when she was a child and couldn’t pronounce her full name.

The Marie Antoinette star isn’t the only celebrity whose name is routinely mispronounced by the public.
Fellow ’90s icon Alicia Silverstone also causes some confusion among fans; she’s confirmed her name is said “Uh-LEE-see-uh”, rather than “Uh-lee-sha”.
Demi Moore recently spoke about how her name is often said incorrectly, confirming it should be pronounced “Deh-mee”, with an emphasis on the second syllable.

Paul Mescal has also been forced to clarify the correct pronunciation of his name.
“People get confused with how to pronounce my name because of the drink mezcal,” he said, explaining his name has a softer ‘s’ and ‘a’ than the popular spirit.
“Everybody does it. I pronounce it ‘Mescal’ and I wonder if I launched a tequila line I would have to, I would call it ‘Mescal’s Mezcal.’ I’m on the fence.”
