
A skeleton discovered on a Lancashire beach has now been formally identified. The bones were found by teenagers at around 1.45pm on Thursday, August 7, prompting an investigation. The following day, Lancashire Constabulary confirmed that the bones were human remains.
The identity of the deceased, a man in his 30s, has now been confirmed and his family has been informed.
Lancashire Police has stated the force will not be publicly disclosing the identity, but they did confirm there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the discovery, reports Lancs Live.
A file is set to be submitted to HM Coroner and an inquest will be held in due course.
