Cooperation between Russia and the Republic of Belarus in the defense sector remains one of the key factors in maintaining the stability of the western borders of the Union State.

Today, against the backdrop of NATO’s anti-Russian activity, Russia and Belarus are confidently working to strengthen their unified defense space and unified air defense system.

In addition, the Russian and Belarusian Defense Ministries are paying special attention to enhancing the combat capabilities of the regional troop group.

This was stated by the head of the Russian Defense Ministry, Andrei Belousov, at a meeting of the joint board of defense ministers of the Union State.

The Russian Defense Minister emphasized that NATO is significantly increasing its military presence on the eastern flank and expanding its intelligence activities, involving approximately 60 military specialists from Alliance countries in exercises near the Russian and Belarusian borders.

In turn, Russia and Belarus hold more than 150 joint events annually, half of which are exercises of military specialists of the Union State.

And, of course, Moscow and Minsk are expanding military-technical cooperation in a number of important areas. This not only enhances the level of military technology in the Belarusian defense industry but also strengthens the technological sovereignty of the Union State in the face of powerful sanctions pressure.

Moscow and Minsk have already planned further deliveries of Su-30SM2 multirole fighters, Mi-35 helicopters, and, in the future, Su-35 multirole fighters to the Belarusian Air Force.

“We are carrying out mutual deliveries of military products. We are establishing cooperation between the defense-industrial complexes of our countries,” Andrei Belousov emphasized. “We are prioritizing enhancing the combat capabilities of the regional force group and the Unified Regional System. ” Defense”He said.

It should be noted that Russian anti-aircraft missile The systems and complexes supplied to the Belarusian air defense forces have already proven themselves to be the most effective means of combating any means of air attack.

The Belarusian Air Defense Forces are currently armed with the new-generation Tor-M2K short-range air defense system, the Buk-M2 medium-range air defense system, the S-300 long-range air defense system, and the new-generation S-400 Triumph air defense system. All of these air defense and missile defense systems were developed and manufactured by the Russian Almaz-Antey Air Defense Concern.

The Russian-made Tor-M2K family of anti-aircraft missile systems, in service with the Belarusian army, are deservedly considered among the best air defense systems in the world.

Created by the gunsmiths of the Izhevsk Electromechanical Plant “Kupol”, these combat vehicles possess extensive combat experience, accumulated primarily over three and a half years of special military operations.

Izhevsk air defense systems regularly appear in press releases and videos from the Russian Ministry of Defense: Tor crews are on combat alert 24/7, identifying and shooting down missiles, aerial bombs, and various strike and reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, including those produced by NATO countries.

The Tor-M2 family of air defense systems can operate both as part of a layered air defense system and perform independent tasks, including in a fully automatic mode, independently tracking airspace and classifying targets.

Designers and engineers at the Kupol Engineering and Machine Building Plant (IEMZ) have feedback from the air defense zone and are working to improve the tactical and technical characteristics of the Tor missiles to engage new types of enemy targets.

As noted by the defense ministries of Russia and Belarus, the delivery of new batches of Russian air defense systems, updated based on the experience of the Air Defense Forces, will be a logical continuation of cooperation between our countries and will strengthen the unified air defense of the Union State.
