Intellectual property attorney, Annalisa Peretti, has taken a multidisciplinary approach to combining fashion law, real estate and creative production. She uses her comprehensive legal and business education to focus on IP, fashion law, and contract review while leading investments in real estate and property acquisitions, including renovation, interior design, and development, and even global licensing agreements.
Peretti shares how she turned her legal acumen into the foundation for her interdisciplinary empire. “My journey into fashion actually evolved from my legal background. My specialization as an attorney has always been in fashion law and industry, focusing on intellectual property (IP), inventions, designs, artistic works, trademarks, copyrights, patents, and trade secrets. Essentially, protecting intangible assets and creative rights,” she explained. “I chose this path because I’ve always been passionate about branding, fashion, design, architecture and innovation around how creative ideas are born, developed, and protected. I find it fascinating how the law intersects with creativity, ensuring that every inventive idea, design, and creation receives the protection it deserves. That legal foundation, along with the master’s I have in product and production management, branding and business fundamentals, became the cornerstone for launching my own brand. Along with offering branding strategy, creative direction and media production services which include events, filming, shooting, commercials, showcasing, etc, for other brands. This combination allowed me to build a strong IP asset portfolio, including patents, trademarks and copyrights, all granted by USPTO, held by my holding company. My holding company reflects not only my creativity but also my understanding of how to safeguard it legally and strategically.”
Her fashion arm houses her ready-to-wear women’s collection, which also holds an extensive IP portfolio including patents, trademarks, and copyrights — all granted by the USPTO. She also offers branding and creative direction for other brands. “I also help brands with product strategy and vision through the entire product development cycle (from ideation to launch), market analysis, business fundamentals, technical and design aspects, and leadership development through real projects with well-known sponsors and production companies.”
Real estate, architecture and design have also been a lifelong passion for Peretti as she and her family are longtime real estate investors. “I love transforming properties to create refined, sophisticated, minimal, yet elegant designs that elevate both the architecture and interiors,” she added. Her real estate focus is around luxury properties in Los Angeles and across other major cities where film and creative productions can take place. Some of her major clients include Paramount Pictures, NBC and many other brands across fashion, beauty and sports. “For both areas, I lead and collaborate with a dedicated team that operates under my supervision and direction,” she shared. “I’m now expanding the real estate investment division of my companies, turning my long-term vision into tangible, protected assets. This area represents the core of my current business growth and is something I’m deeply passionate about.”
While many entrepreneurs may not see the through line between law, fashion and real estate, Peretti finds it to be a holistic approach. “AP Holding reflects my multi-disciplinary approach by integrating diverse perspectives, expertise, and skills under one umbrella. Peretti has no plans to slow down and is continuing to grow her holding company into a global brand.
