
KwaZulu-Natal police are investigating the deaths of four people found burnt beyond recognition inside two vehicles in Inanda. FOUR BODIES FOUND IN TORCHED VEHICLES AT INANDA SAPS provincial spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda said police responded to reports of two burnt vehicles. Upon arrival, officers discovered one body burnt beyond recognition inside a Nissan NP200, while three additional bodies were found inside a Toyota Rumion, also burnt beyond recognition. Police also found three carcasses of cattle next to the NP200.”The motive of the killings is unknown at this stage, however police suspect that the incident could be related to stock theft. The process to identify the victims is underway and a search for the suspects is ongoing,” Netshiunda said.The attack unfolded in Inanda, an area that has repeatedly ranked among the country’s most dangerous policing precincts. For several years running, Inanda has appeared in the top three nationally forIncidents involving suspected stock theft have previously triggered mob violence and retaliatory attacks in several rural and peri-urban parts of KwaZulu-Natal. Police have urged residents not to take the law into their own hands and to report suspected criminal activity through official channels. KwaZulu-Natal police are appealing for information that may assist in identifying the victims or locating the perpetrators.
