Around 12 homes were evacuated after a car ploughed into a house. Emergency services were called to Millbrook Close in Warrington at around 3.30pm on Sunday, October 26.
It followed a report of a crash, and when police arrived at the scene they found one car had smashed into a house and damaged a gas main. There were no reports of any serious injuries, a spokesperson for Cheshire Police confirmed.
Neighbours were evacuated as a precaution due to a “gas leak risk”. All residents have since returned to their homes apart from one property next to the affected house.
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the driver was taken to hospital and three passengers were checked over by paramedics at the scene. Cadent Gas also isolated the supply, and the vehicle involved in the crash was recovered.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said a cordon remains in place as a precautionary measure while the local authority evaluates the structural damage.
In a statement, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Emergency services were called after a car crashed into a detached house on Millbrook Close, which led to concerns about damage to a gas main.
“The driver of the car was taken to hospital, and three passengers were also checked over by paramedics at the scene.
“As a precaution, around 12 homes were evacuated due to the gas leak risk. Residents were relocated to another property while the incident was dealt with.
“Cadent Gas isolated the supply, and the vehicle was recovered.
“The incident was left with the police to manage the scene, with support from local authority teams to check the building’s safety.”
