MARIETTA, Ohio (WTAP) – The Hearts and Hands 4 Paws 5k was held in Marietta at Muskingum Park Sunday.
This was the second annual 5k held to support Hearts and Hands 4 Paws.
“It’s Hearts and Hands 4 Paws’ largest fundraiser. They are a local foundation that helps people with veterinary expenses and spay and neuter costs so that people can keep their animals at home and not surrender them to the shelter,” said Cindy Brock, race director.
According to Brock, this is the only race in the Mid-Ohio Valley where you can walk or run on your own or with your dog.
Brock said that around 175 people registered for the race including many dogs. Even some dogs showed off their fur-tastic Halloween costumes for this year.
