Heart Evangelista has walked countless red carpets, graced magazine covers around the world and earned recognition as one of fashion’s global style icons. Yet for all the glamor that surrounds her, she insists that true confidence is not about couture gowns or designer heels but feeling at ease in your own skin.

Speaking at the launch of Avon’s new Dream Curve bras, the actress, fashion icon, and long-time advocate of women’s empowerment shared how comfort plays into her confidence and career.
“Confidence has a lot to do with self-love, honestly. Growing up in the industry, you started out with confidence, and sometimes it also has to do with you lifting yourself up. And that’s what confidence is about. Not everybody’s going to cheer for you, so sometimes you got to kind of fight for yourself, love yourself more,” Evangelista said.

“When you’re confident, you’re comfortable. When you’re comfortable, you’re confident. You can do anything, anything you can ever imagine, with hard work,” she added.
Evangelista reflected candidly on her personal growth, describing it as a process of letting go of past selves.

“I had to attend several funerals of different versions of myself in the past. You know, there are some versions that I didn’t like about myself, and there’s some that I truly loved, but I had to let her go. It happens, but not overnight,” she pointed out.
Meanwhile, the 40-year-old said that underneath the couture gowns and fashion spreads, her essentials keep her grounded. She pointed to her current favorite, Avon’s Amaya and Anita Dream Curve bras, thoughtfully designed with Dream Memory Foam technology.

“It’s important that you are always fully equipped with your essentials, no matter where you go because for me, I need to be comfortable inside. Like for today, I’m wearing the Amaya and I love it. I feel gorgeous,” she said.
“I also love the Amaya because there’s no wire. The shape is perfect. It’s support and structure makes you really feel empowered. And believe me, not every day I’m empowered. Some days I’m just really down to the ground. But I always believe that what I put on is an armor of my soul,” Evangelista added.
Beyond fashion, Evangelista emphasized how authenticity and self-acceptance have been her true career catalysts.
“Starting out in show business, you feel like you have to be one of them for them to accept you. You have to be this and for for them to accept you. But I am done with conforming to the patterns of this world,” she said.

Instead, she said her breakthrough came when she stopped trying to fit into molds.
“I feel like I truly shine or I truly started to get a kick with my career, with my dreams was when I started to stop playing roles, when I started to just be myself,” she said.
“I’m proud of where I am today, and that has shaped much of my career. For me, it’s about authenticity — learning to be comfortable with the things you may not always like about yourself. That’s what makes you unique and different,” Evangelista ended.
