Northwest Colorado Health’s Aging Well program is hosting a BBQ for older adults in the community on Wednesday, July 16. The BBQ is being hosted in partnership with the Moffat County Cattlewomen and will be held during Wellness Wednesday at St. Michael’s Church from 11:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.
The BBQ provides an opportunity for older adults to come together to build connections, socialize and enjoy a delicious meal. The Wellness Wednesday program happens weekly and is a fun day of activities for older adults, designed to help them live healthier and happier in the community. The day includes exercise classes, senior wellness checks with a registered nurse, lunch, guest speakers, pinocle and cards.
In addition to the Wellness Wednesday activities, regular Aging Well fitness classes are also available with a variety of classes each week. The current class schedule includes:
The Aging Well fitness classes are designed for adults over 50 of all ability levels and are led by certified instructors to help older adults reduce their risk of falls, injuries and illness and prevent social isolation. There is a suggested donation of $3 per class, but no one is turned away due to inability to pay.
Summer is a great time to get out and get active. Northwest Colorado Health encourages older adults in the community to join us for the BBQ and learn more about our regular programming available through Aging Well. Learn more at northwestcoloradohealth.org/agingwell or call 970-871-7676.
