Kate Harrison, volunteer coordinator at Age Concern Hampshire, said: “Our volunteers provide essential support that allows older people to stay independent and connected.
“Every hour our volunteers give makes a difference in someone’s day.”
The charity says volunteering offers the chance to build connections, learn new skills, and make a meaningful contribution to the community.
Opportunities are flexible, with roles available for those who can spare as little as an hour a week.
Volunteers support older people and their carers by offering companionship, supporting daily activities, and helping individuals remain independent.
Current roles include trustee positions, foot care receptionists, and administrative support.
Opportunities are also available at Care and Wellbeing Centres, where volunteers help with activities and day services.
There are also hospital ward support roles, where volunteers assist on rehab wards.
These placements are currently available in Petersfield, Gosport, and Alton.
Volunteers in these positions help older people complete forms, access benefits, and navigate essential services.
Age Concern Hampshire also works with businesses through employee volunteer programs and joint campaigns.
Anyone interested in volunteering can find out more by calling Age Concern Hampshire on 01962 868545, or visiting their website.
